PERSONAL PROJECTS

What if flowers destroyed my home? - 2021

What if Flowers destroyed my Home? deals with a photo that was taken after the massive explosion that occurred in the port of Beirut, Lebanon in August 2020. This photograph of a destroyed car implies that it was the flowers that "fell" on its windshield that destroyed it. The text is a small repetitive poem that questions the idea of how a home could be destroyed. The newspaper is fictive and made up by to make believe that it was found in the faraway future as the remains of the event, and preserved as a relic.

home goes on (without me) - 2022

What happens to family, friends, places, homes and a decaying country after we leave them? The sun stays warm, the sea remains a mother and people find a way to hang on to life between their daily habits and surviving the day. All of that under the cover of an ever collapsing country. I invite you into my home, and I hope you feel the warmth that remains in the midst of the chaos.

I am planting my womb in the soil - 2023

While seeking closeness to the Land and the Womb, I visited three women friends of mine, Caroline, Yasmine, and Alya. Their work revolves around womb care, seasonal eating, and herbalism, among other things.
I decided to spend an unplanned day with them, simply talking, sharing stories, drinking tea and eating.
I offered to take photos of them, and asked them to hand me herbs that they have been loving at that time from their respective gardens in return.
